July 4th in Aspen

This year’s 4th of July “Retro Rewind” celebration in Aspen is packed with tradition, creativity, and inclusivity, all smoke- and echo-free!

  • Boogie’s Buddy Race at 8 AM in Rio Grande Park: 1-mile, 5K or 5-mile fun run supporting a local Buddy Program.
  • Kids on Bikes at Paepcke Park, 10–11 AM: Kiddie bike parade with a patriotic flair—helmets required!
  • Old-Fashioned Parade, 11 AM–Noon: Floats, fire trucks, steam calliope and candy along Main Street—schedule posted online.
  • Community BBQ at Koch Park, Noon–3 PM: Hosted by Aspen Valley Ski & Snowboard Club with live music, beer & tequila garden, games and face painting.
  • Cirque Kikasse, 2 & 6 PM: Circus spectacle on a mobile stage in front of the Wheeler Opera House.
  • AMFS Patriotic Concert, 4 PM: Aspen Music Festival’s patriotic program at the Klein/Benedict Tent.
  • Fruition & Community Concert, 7 PM: Free set at Wagner Park with Alpine ambience and local vibes.
  • Symphony of Freedom Drone Show, 9:30 PM: A mesmerizing 800‑drone light show above Aspen Mountain, replacing fireworks for safety, wildlife, and sensory-friendly reasons.

Plus: Aspen Meadows Resort adds a Community Village (10 AM–2 PM), car show, open‑air art market, live music, and panoramic-gondola cocktails.


Aspen Music Festival & School | June–August

Aspen’s classical music heart beats strong! The Aspen Music Festival and School, running for eight weeks, delivers over 400 concerts, masterclasses, and operas. This summer brings a stellar lineup including Stéphane Denève, Marie Jacquot, Patricia Kopatchinskaja, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Ryan Bancroft, and more.

Notably, their annual Fourth of July concert returns at the Kleint (Klein/Benedict) Music Tent at 4 PM.
